Match preview Vs Farsley Celtic

Date: 19-01-08 Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 15:00hrs
The Harriers have another chance to get their faltering season back on track tomorrow with the visit of one of the new boys of the Conference, Farsley Celtic.  Our first home game since the first day of the year will be the first time that we have played Celtic at Aggborough and we'll want to go one better than the draw we achieved at their place back in September.  Then a second half goal from Russ Penn saved our faces after going down to a second minute goal from the home side.

We should be at full strength for the game after reporting no injuries following the Weymouth game last Saturday and the extra days rest following the postponement of the replay for that game on Tuesday.  Mark Yates is talking about bringing in some new faces in time for the game, but, as in recent weeks this idea seems to be hitting a brick wall.  In fact the only movement could be going the other way with some players - thought to be James Constable and Mark Creighton - about to be signing for other clubs.

Not what we want really with such a small squad already, no sign of any replacements and two players, Harkness and Munday, sent out on loan.

Farsley have been going through a rough patch lately and are probably now finding this League a tough place to be.  Their last three points came with thanks to Halifax on Boxing Day and previous to that you have to go back to the beginning of October and their 3-0 win at fellow strugglers Droylsden for the last win before that.

Add into this that Farsley will be playing three times this week - against us tomorrow and then Alfreton in the FA Trophy on Monday followed by a televised game against Stevenage on Thursday night.  We can hope that they're saving themselves for one of those other two games.

On paper it looks like being rollover time but it never pans out that way and knowing our form against struggling sides we'll make it as hard as possible to get all the points.

I think those three points will be ours come 5:00pm though.

One player signing for another club last night was the former Harriers defender Wayne Hatswell.  He has now left Rushden to join Cambridge Utd for a nominal fee.
