Match preview Vs Northwich Victoria

Date: 02-02-08 Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 15:00hrs
It'll be a slightly different looking Harriers that pit their wits against another struggling side at Aggborough tomorrow.  Yesterday saw the departures of James Constable and Scott Bevan to Shrewsbury in a move that has infuriated many Harriers fans wondering what on earth is going on at Aggborough.  In exchange we see the return of Calamity Chris Mackenzie in goal and Luke Jones, a central defender about whom very little is known.  Seems a good bit of business that!

Stuart Whitehead and Michael Blackwood have gone to AFC Telford and Oxford Utd respectively where Blackwood will meet up with Justin Richards after he joined them on loan last week.

In through the turnstiles in addition to Mackenzie and Jones are Matt Bailey and Darryl Knights after they signed for us before last nights deadline.  That's also in addition to Alex Jeannin who came here from Oxford Utd last week.  I can see a pattern forming here?

It was obvious that changes would be made following two less than endearing performances against Weymouth and the final straw coming in the defeat against the bottom club Droylsden last Saturday.

If these changes are to work then we can only hope because no one will know until we have played the team that lie third from bottom, Northwich, tomorrow.  If we lose this then we really are in trouble.

We should have both Jeff Kenna and Russ Penn back for us after missing the midweek goal fest against Stourport Swifts in the Worcester Senior Cup.  A game in which Matt Barnes-Homer cracked in a hat trick in the 5-0 win.

Northwich have been quiet in the transfer market with just Paul Tait leaving.  They have already done quite a bit of dealing earlier in the month though with one face that a few Harriers fans might be able to put a name to.  Cayne Hanley of 'twenty minutes at Morecambe' fame plays for the Vics now and it'll be nice to see how he plays for a club that are probably three divisions below his true level.

Kevin Townson left them earlier in the week for the League of Wales side, New Saints, but the one player I did like, Michael Carr, is still there after being tipped to join a Premier or Championship side.  We should have snapped him up last night.

On paper we should be able to get past Northwich but the same was said last Friday and look what happened there.
