On top of the excitement of this weekends forthcoming FA Cup game against Curzon Ashton we have now drawn another Northern club in the first round of this seasons FA Trophy. Burscough FC will be the visitors to Aggborough on December 13th in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.
Burscough are previous winners of the Trophy when they became the smallest club to ever win the FA Trophy with a 2-1 victory over Tamworth at Villa Park on Sunday 18th May 2003. The game was played in front of a crowd of 14,296.
At the moment they are struggling near the bottom of the Blue Square North but chalked up a good 2-1 away win at Hinckley on Saturday to earn a place in this round of the Cup.
A former player of theirs was the infamous Lee McEvilly now with Cambridge Utd.
