The Harriers lost their second friendly of the season tonight against Stafford Rangers, a side that they trounced 6-0 in the League last season. A late goal from Bobby Wilson - an overhead kick - was the deciding factor in the game.
An injury to the face for Luke Jones saw him go off after twenty minutes and a head injury to Stafford's Nick Wellecome saw him rushed to hospital only for him to return later after a check up none the worse for wear. That was the second time during this spell of friendlies that Jones has gone off injured shortly after the start of the game.
In the second half Mark Yates sent on eight subs in an effort to get something from the game but with Stafford growing in confidence they sealed the game four minutes from time.
The Harriers play their final friendly against Team Bath at Bath University this Saturday before the season starts on August 9th at home to Lewes. This team is nowhere near being complete or even ready for that and time is running out.
Harriers:
Bartlett, Bowler, Creighton, Jones, Ferrell, Bennett, Penn, Russell, McDermott, Richards, Barnes-Homer.
Subs:
Coleman, Knights, Bignot, Smikle, McGrath, Brittain, Addagio, Foley, Riley, Griffiths.
