Match preview Vs Cambridge Utd

gif

Date: 17-02-09gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 19:45hrs
This quickly arranged game has two reasons for the urgency to get it played.  One is the fact that we need to bounce back quickly from yet another dire home performance as witnessed against Northwich on Sunday and the other reason is keep Setanta to their promise of broadcasting this game.

I'm pretty sure that if it hadn't been Cambridge that we were playing then there would have been no rush, on their part, to get it played so soon.

We played Utd in front of the cameras last season and on that occasion we won the game 1-0 even though Cambridge gave our defence a torrid time.  A breakaway goal from Iyseden Christie won us the points but there was a suspicion of offside about it.

Then we were struggling in mid table and our visitors tomorrow were in the play-offs but this time we are more evenly matched and both sides stand on the cusp of a return back to the Football League.  We were both relegated to this God forsaken League back in 2005 and neither of us can't wait to get out.

We should have a fully fit side for the game (apart from Russ Penn) and we might see some changes to the line-up once more as Mark Yates tries to fathom out what his best selection should be.

Utd have just bought back Scott Rendell on loan from Peterborough for the remainder of the season but he injured his hand in his first game back.  All their injuries have now cleared up and they should be able to field a full team apart from Danny Crow as a he serves a one match suspension for five yellows.

They lost three players during the January sales with Felim Jardin, Lee Frecklington and Gavin Hoyte all leaving for pastures new.

This is going to be a tough game against a side that never seem to be able to get a result at Aggborough.  I feel this losing streak will continue tomorrow night and Cambridge will go home empty handed once more and we'll bury the memories of Sunday along with it.
