Crawley, as expected, beat a youthful Weymouth on Sunday and with those three points drew further away from us in the table. The fact that they were re-credited with four of the five points taken off them for irregularities have helped them no end but not Oxford or Mansfield who were not treated with a similar leniency.
For all their so called lack of money and legal niceties they still seem able to attract players to the Broadfield Stadium.
A recent arrival there is the former Harrier Gavin Hurren (left) following his release from Kings Lynn. He joined them after failing to set Mansfield alight with his skills and lasted just a month with the Linnets before being released from his contract. I always had time for Trigger not least because he always tried hard.
Another former Harrier in the Crawley team is Glenn Wilson. He was with us on loan at this time two years ago from Rushden but joined Crawley during the following close season.
Apart from Andy Ferrell we should have an almost fully fit side for this game. The only doubt is still Stefan Moore who should have been fit for the Salisbury game but didn't appear to be. Craig Armstrong will miss the second game of his three game suspension.
