It's going to be a nail biting ninety minutes hoping that Stevenage and Torquay slip up and that the Harriers can make sure that they beat Kettering.
We should be at full strength for the game with the only doubt being Mark Creighton. He injured his leg at Histon last Saturday and then, in-advisedly in my opinion, played at Stevenage on Tuesday evening in a game that saw his fitness exposed and given the runaround by Morison and Cole far too often. He should have made more of a recovery by now but if his fitness is in any doubt then he should play no part in another equally important game.
Luke Jones replaced him at Histon and did the job perfectly well and could have done equally well at Stevenage if he had been given the chance.
Kettering have nothing to play for now and are guaranteed to finish in eighth place whatever the result. They were on the fringes of the play-offs for a while but in recent weeks have slipped down the table due to, like us, a back log of games. They also had a decent FA Cup run that saw them up against Lincoln City, Notts County and Eastwood Town before reaching the fourth round where they faced Fulham and finally went out.
Kettering will have just two definitely missing through injury with both Brett Solkhon and Darren Wrack out for the remainder of the season. John Dempster will face a late fitness test to see if he will play any part in the game.
Fingers crossed.
