Lewes, quite frankly, are doomed and beyond redemption having occupied the bottom spots in the League since around the third week into the season. Even if they did manage to escape the drop on points they would still be facing a points reduction due to ground improvements that have not been undertaken yet.
On Tuesday evening - following defeat at Rushden - their manager/director Kevin Keehan finally called it a day and walked out on the club after a close season coup had forced out the former manager Steve King. Lewes are now searching for a new man in charge and until that appointment is made then former Lewes player Steve Ibbitson has been made Caretaker Manager.
Us on the other hand finally put that opening day draw to the back of our minds and started to climb the table. A bit of a blip in the New Year saw us drop back a bit but that excellent win at home against Crawley on Tuesday has given us fresh hope of getting back into the play-offs.
Again we'll be without Craig Armstrong as he completes his three game ban and also Andy Ferrell who will miss the remainder of the season following surgery on his knee.
Once more it doesn't need saying that we must win this game but the banana skin could await us with Lewes trying to impress a possible new manager in attendance. Give him the Baptism of Fire that they missed out on last time.
