Match preview Vs Northwich Victoria

gif

Date: 15-02-09gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 14:00hrs
It's a Sunday game for us tomorrow with bottom of the pile Northwich Victoria coming to Aggborough for a Blue Square League game.  We are notorious strugglers against teams near the bottom of the table and this is one game that we're going to have to win if we're serious about making the play-offs.

Vics have struggled all season and off the field events haven't helped their cause much.  It all seemed to start in a FA Cup game against AFC Telford a few months ago when the previous owner of the club, Mike Connett, stripped the place bare of all assets including the stock of 50p's for the meter resulting in floodlight failure.

That was just the start and they now find themselves locked out of the stadium and having to beg other clubs like Altrincham if they can use their ground.  Other times they have had to reverse the fixture and re-arrange away games instead.

It's a shame that the fate of Northwich seems tied up with other peoples callous attitude and stubbornness.

They'll have keeper Scott Tynan missing for the game and they also have doubts about the fitness of Simon Grand and Mike Aspin both with ankle injuries and James Mullan (calf muscle).  All three could still make the game though.

We'll have to do without Martin Riley as he travels tomorrow to Malta for the England C friendly game.  Also still out will be Russ Penn with his knee injury but he's now on the mend and could make a return for the visit to Wrexham in two weeks time.

Following the leaving of Michael Bowler just before the postponed Cambridge Utd game last Tuesday we now have another player leaving the club, on a temporary basis.  Rookie striker Sam Foley has gone out to Newport County on a months loan but he won't be leaving for good because he's one that Mark Yates intends to keep at the club for the future.

Don't forget that the game starts at two o'clock tomorrow so you have no excuse turning up late.
