Match preview Vs Stevenage Borough

gif

Date: 04-04-09gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
This could be our biggest game of the season tomorrow when our main rivals to make the play-offs come to Aggborough hoping to retain their 24 game unbeaten run.  Stevenage last failed to gain a single point against Wrexham back at the end of November in the last game of a three match losing run.

This brilliant form has seen them climb from near the foot of the table before Christmas to within touching distance of promotion since then and it has all coincided with the return of Graham Westley as manager.

Westley has also taken them to their second Wembley appearance in three years where they come up against York City in the FA Trophy Final.  At least they won't have James Constable to worry about this time.

The game tomorrow SHOULD also see our biggest crowd of the season since Wrexham came to town and helped give us a crowd of just over 2400.  Last week Stevenage recorded their best crowd of the season when 3700 turned up to see them draw with Oxford Utd but I can't really seeing us bettering that.  It's a sad state of affairs when the Wyre Forest area fail to support their local club preferring to watch the overpaid Premiership instead.

Stevenage will be without two crucial players for the game.  Andy Drury suffered a tear to his hamstring in the FA Trophy against Ebbsfleet and David Bridges has a grade 2 tear of his medial ligament.

We should be injury free but there is some doubt about Matt Barnes-Homer and Martin Riley.  They have both been thought to have hamstring problems but MBH's could have just been a touch of cramp during the Woking game on Wednesday night.

It was that game that convinced many Harriers fans that we are good enough to go back up into the Football League and that we are good enough to beat other strong contenders like Stevenage.  We all have a tough run in to the end of the campaign now and I think if we beat Stevenage tomorrow then many other fans will see that we mean business.
