Match preview Vs Torquay Utd

Date: 28-12-08gif Venue: Plainmoorgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
The Harriers will have to improve on yesterday's terrible performance against Forest Green if they hope to return from Torquay Utd's Plainmoor ground with at least a point.  Luckily for us we managed to get something that resembled a result at Aggborough on Boxing Day but for a team that are supposedly on the verge of promotion back to the Football League we looked more like a team destined for the Blue Square South.

Scott Bevan Over 2000 fans tore themselves away from their turkey dinner to watch a load of bird droppings at Aggborough from a team that had no idea how to pass the ball or how to score.

A few hours after we had managed to salvage a point at home to the third worst team in the League Torquay were racking up yet another win - at Weymouth - to take themselves up to second place in the table.  They did it with the help of the former Harriers keeper Scott Bevan (left) who is now on loan with them after Shrewsbury incredibly decided he wasn't good enough for them.  Scott is soon to put pen to paper on an eighteen month contract with Torquay.

They'll be without Chris Todd for the game but thankfully he's now on the road to recovery after being diagnosed with leukemia a few months back.  I'm sure that everyone connected with this site and KHFC wish him well in the recovery process and his future in the game will not be affected too much.

Apart from Todd they have no other injuries and neither do we.  We'll have Mark Creighton and Russ Penn back for this game so Dean Bennett and Luke Jones should now drop back down to the bench.

It's up front and in midfield where our problems lie and I wouldn't be sorry to see some changes there.  Maybe Stefan Moore coming in for Matt Barnes-Homer or Chris Beardsley in for Justin Richards.  In midfield a real good shake up is needed and I wouldn't be upset if either David McDermott or Darryl Knights got their chance in place of Andy Ferrell or Brian Smikle.

To be honest I'm not getting too hopeful of a result at Torquay and I'd be over the moon with a point.  Can't really see it though.
