Today the move finally happened and Briggs became a Harrier for the next two years.
He started his footballing career at Stockport County and then signed for Norwich City for £65,000 in 2003 but made only five appearances during his two years there before re-joining County for another three seasons completing 166 outings during his two spells there and scoring fourteen times.
He joined local side Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer in January 2008 but only lasted a month there, playing in only two games, before moving on to Mansfield Town the year they got relegated. He lasted a little longer there but still didn't play many games, just thirteen, before joining up with Steve Burr at Stalybridge in July 2008.
As with Stockport he started to enjoy his football once again and made eighty one appearances for them and scored sixteen times. He was also given the captains armband by Burr and is likely to become the Harriers captain for next season.
