Following the great win at Oxford on Saturday in the quarter finals of this seasons FA Trophy we knew straight away that whoever we drew in today's draw for the two legged semi finals would produce a tough game and also a long journey.
Left in it following Saturdays games were Salisbury City who beat Tamworth 2-1 at home and Stevenage Boro who just about scraped through at home to Blue Square North side. They were one goal down during the first half and equalised towards the start of the second. With seven minutes of extra time flashing up on the board the game looked to be heading for a replay until four minutes in and Stacy Long popped up to grab the winner. Now that's what you call Fergie time.
The other game between Barrow and York City became a victim of Northern type weather and will be played tomorrow evening.
So out of that lot who did we draw? Yes, Stevenage, the winners the last time we appeared in the FA Trophy Final three years ago.
At least we won't be meeting in the final this time but it sure is going to be a tough ask. We do have the knowledge that we beat Oxford at the Kassam on Saturday and that win was accomplished quite comfortably so a double header against Stevenage should hold no fear for us.
The first leg will be played at Aggborough on March 13th with the return game at Broadhall Way (or the Lamex Stadium if you want to be pedantic) the following weekend on the 20th. Both games are at 3:00pm
