Courtney joined the club at the start of last season from the Welsh club, TNS. He had formerly been at Telford and Burnley where he had been coached by the former Harriers manager Mark Yates. He joined us with a very high reputation and overall he came up to those expectations.
He was an almost ever present last season having played in forty nine games and scored just the one goal in our away win at Kettering last November. He was a solid defender that liked to get forward to put the occasional cross in but he could be caught out for pace at the back and also caught wrong footed by a left sided player.
He's joined City on a one year contract and will probably be hoping to do better than the last two exports there. Andy Ferrell left them in the New Year for Gateshead and Simon Russell could never hold down a regular first team place there and was sent out on loan quite often. Russell joined Cambridge Utd two weeks ago,
