John Finnigan finally arrived at the club today after probably the most drawn out signing at Aggborough so far this close season.  He arrived at the club after sources originally claimed he was signing for us well over a month ago.

John Finnigan On Tuesday his previous club Cheltenham Town cancelled his contract.  A contract that had one more year to run but a reported falling out with Martin Allen, his manager at Waddle Road, accelerated his leaving and now he has joined the Mark Yates revolution.

He joined Cheltenham just over seven years ago from Lincoln City and quickly became a fans favourite down there.  He still is and many Robins fans would rather have seen Allen leave than Finnigan.  Previous to them he started his career at Nottingham Forest but left for Lincoln after three years without making the break through.

Born in Wakefield he is now 33yrs old and has signed up for two years with us.  Although he is a creative midfielder who can chip in with his fair share of goals the only worry about him is a heel injury that caused him to miss a large chunk of the 07/08 season and the first few months of last season.

Hopefully that's all behind him now and he can crack on and help to get us back into the Football League.
