The Harriers England C midfielder, Russ Penn, has today finally put another pen to paper and signed for newly promoted Burton Albion for an un-disclosed fee and a two year contract.  The fee is thought to be in the region of £50,000.

Russ first joined us four years ago this month after being released from Scunthorpe Utd.  He went out on loan to Alvechurch for a short period and then came back to us to stake a regular place in the team and has now ended his time with us having made 180 appearances and scoring twenty six times.

It was to be hoped that Russ would stay with us but he has made it known that he was not happy with the direction that the club was being taken and wanted to better himself with a more ambitious League club.  Who can really blame him?

There is one silver cloud coming over the horizon though with the news in the Express & Star that Chris McPhee will finally sign for us today.  No doubt thanks to the minimal fee received for Penn.

There have been other signings while I have been away on holiday.  Dean Bennett signed a years contract yesterday and before that David McDermott and Dean Coleman also signed similar deals.
