Match preview Vs Altrincham

Date: 29-08-09gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
Last week saw the Harriers break their duck at Grays with a good 3-1 win at one of the few grounds that we never seem to do well at.  That win came thanks to goals from Dean Bennett, Brian Smikle and David McDermott and was also accomplished without new signing Robbie Matthews.  He missed the game due to a late groin strain but should be fit for this game.

John Finnigan In our last home game - against Kettering - we ended up without the points thanks to a late penalty for the visitors.  We didn't exactly bombard their goal with chances but we didn't look as if we were going to lose either.

So the signs are there that we can put some results together and we're starting to click.

For the Grays game we started for the first time this season with John Finnigan in midfield and that seemed to work well for us bringing back memories of the legendary Mike Marsh.  Kyle Hadley also started the game but didn't make as good an impression.

Altrincham have had a decentish start to the season and sit in fifth place in the league following three wins against Barrow, Histon and Hayes but lost at home to AFC Wimbledon last Saturday.  They haven't played any of the better sides yet.  Until tomorrow!!

We should be starting to see Aaron Farrell coming back from injury soon.  He was out on the pitch before that game last Saturday and this week he has been in full training with the rest of the team.  I can't see him being a first team regular but he would be good to have on the bench due to a lack of strikers generally.

Alty have been dealt a bit of a blow just before the game with the news that midfielder Matty Crowell has left the club to begin a new career down under.  He's signed for the Central Coast Mariners in Australia and will not now be playing tomorrow.  They'll also be without Robbie Lawton and Michael Welch following recent operations.

I'm expecting a win from this game.  Mainly because our form is starting to improve and because Altrincham are not where they should be.

I think we'll be the start of their dive down the table.
