Match preview Vs Crawley Town

Robbie Matthews (below) will be missing from the game tomorrow, and for the following two against Fleetwood and Cambridge Utd, after the appeal against his dismissal at home to Luton last Saturday was treated with contempt by the spineless FA that then turn around and ask players to 'respect the ref'.  How ironic that they then cannot respect the truth.

Robbie Matthews Photo evidence that was 99.9% conclusive was ignored along with video evidence that supported Robbie's claim.

It will now be interesting to see if the Harriers manager, Mark Yates, will bring in an emergency loan signing or if he will choose to give Aaron Farrell a run in the side.  That, to be honest, would be very doubtful now that it is plain to see that Farrell is just not good enough for this level of football.

We also have to cope with the absence of the talismanic Chris McPhee for the Crawley game and possibly even longer after he was crudely bought down minutes before the Matthews sending off - a tackle that also resulted in Luton's Rossi Jarvis being red carded.  Chris tried to play on but couldn't and left the field minutes later.

We could also be without David McDermott with bruising to his ankle.  That happened against Wrexham a few weeks back and he still appears to be nowhere near returning to the side

Crawley will also have a player out suspended after Karl Broadhurst was given a two match ban following his sending off in their home defeat against Barrow last Saturday.  He was also sent off against Rushden on September 26th hence his two game ban this time.

Crawley, like us, also appealed against the second red card after they believed that evidence showed that Broadhurst was not the player that bought Barrows Jason Walker down but this too was dismissed.

Our visitors will have a few players coming back from injury, including former Harrier Glenn Wilson, but Chris Giles and Charles Ademeno will definitely miss the game with long term injuries.

This is a game that we should be looking to get something from but it all depends on Yates finding someone to partner Matt Barnes-Homer up front.  MBH might be a fans favourite but he does need to have someone to play alongside him and it remains to be seen if Farrell will ever be good enough.
