It's doubtful there will be many changes made to the line up tomorrow and Steve will use the game as an appraisal of the squad as it exists now and how he sees it being changed in the coming weeks. The fact that he has just over a week to bring some new faces in makes it likely that he would be happy with the draw at Crawley and hopefully over the moon with a win.
He should have an almost full squad to choose from with only David McDermott (stomach) and Kyle Hadley (groin) missing. There could be doubts surrounding Dean Bennett and Robbie Matthews after they were both subbed in the second half of that squeaky bum win over Lewes in the FA Trophy on Tuesday.
On the same night that we were scraping through to the next round of the Trophy Crawley were making their exit in a 2-1 defeat at Chelmsford that left the above mentioned Evans fuming. He claims that the referee was out of his depth and gave a penalty to Chelmsford that never was and also a free kick that, likewise, should never have been given. Doesn't change does he?
Team news from Crawley is not available yet and is very unlikely to be. At the moment they are equal on points with us but because we have played one game less that them we have the upperhand. In a way this could be classed as a six pointer. Or Steve Burrs first three points.
