Match preview Vs Ebbsfleet Utd

Date: 15-08-09gif Venue: Stonebridge Roadgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
The Harriers latest signing, Robbie Matthews, will be hoping to make his debut at Ebbsfleet after signing for us from Salisbury City on Thursday.  He may not start the game with Mark Yates preferring the lone striker option when playing away from home but no doubt he will come on at sometime.

Robbie Matthews After our first two games of this new season he couldn't come on too soon.  Against Hayes last Saturday Matt Barnes-Homer looked slightly out of it with the lack of support and at Salisbury on Tuesday the whole team, apart from Dean Coleman, went missing and seemed to lack purpose.  Matthews should help give them, and MBH, that missing purpose.

I expect to see the same starting lineup tomorrow as at City and the only changes will come later when either David McDermott or Darryl Knights come off to allow the debut of Matthews.  Gavin Caines should retain his place even taking account of the glaring errors made when he gave away a penalty and minutes later almost let City in again to score.

It was only down to exceptional work, including saving that penalty, from Dean Coleman that kept City's winning margin down to one.

Ebbsfleet started their season by picking up a point at Altrincham last Saturday but then went and threw that away with a 3-1 home to Cambridge Utd on Tuesday.  Even though they lost the game you'd be hard pressed to understand why if you read the match report on their official website.  The glowing praise gushed onto them even in defeat makes you think they could be slightly biased.

There is no team news from Ebbsfleet yet.

For us Aaron Farrell is expected to be missing through injury again but we have no other injuries.  I expect a better performance than Tuesday for this game and I hope that the new signing will get us back to winning ways again but I still can't see us getting more than a point.

At this time of the season though that's ok by me.
