Match preview Vs Hayes & Yeading Utd

gif

Date: 15-04-10gif Venue: Church Roadgif Kick off: 19:45hrs
These Thursday evening games are becoming something of a regular occurrence lately with one at Barrow last week and now we face Hayes on a Thursday night too.  The difference to this game is that we don't have to travel down to London again a day later but instead Stevenage will come to us.

First up though we have a much postponed game at Hayes & Yeading Utd to deal with first.  We were originally due to play them in January but bad weather put paid to that game so it was re-arranged for March 20th but that then clashed with the second leg of the Trophy at Stevenage.  It was then pencilled in for the last week of the season but on FA advice it was bought forward to tomorrow just in case a blizzard hit the country and the game wouldn't have been played before the final day on the 24th of this month.

We should be more or less at full strength for the game with just Dean Coleman definitely out and David McDermott possibly out following an ankle injury against Barrow last week.  He suffered ligament damage so realistically he won't be back just yet.

John Finnigan is back from his injury though and played at Gateshead on Saturday when two goals from Chris McPhee sealed all three points for us, our first away win this year.  Duane Courtney is the only other worry and sat out the Gateshead game on the bench but could now figure in the starting eleven at Hayes.

Hayes played at Salisbury on Tuesday evening - hence our game being tomorrow - and lost 3-1 in a very poor game from their point of view.  They had to change their starting line-up at short notice when James Mulley got injured while warming up for the match with Nathan Webb taking his place in the starting line up.

Any other injuries are unknown so we'll assume that the remainder of the squad are fully fit.

Hayes are going through a spell of inconsistency lately and can either score a hatful of goals or let the floodgates open and ship eight as in a recent defeat at Luton.  Then again the way Luton are banging in the goals lately then they weren't the only team getting hammered by them.

With both teams having nothing to play for now this could well end up as a goal less draw but it might also finish with an avalanche of goals for either side.  I'll settle for the avalanche in our favour.
