Match preview Vs Histon

gif

Date: 12-09-09gif Venue: The Glassworld Stadiumgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
We're back on a high at Aggborough following Tuesday evenings comprehensive thrashing of Mansfield Town.  We won that game at a canter with goals from Barnes-Homer, Gavin Caines and Chris McPhee with only two disappointments in not winning by a bigger margin and MBH taking a woeful penalty.

David McDermott Now we take the trip to Histon tomorrow hoping to build on the win with all three points at a team that are surprisingly struggling at the minute.  Last season Histon were in with a shout of promotion when they finished in the play-offs but went out over two legs to the eventual winners Torquay Utd.

So far this season they have only won twice - at home to Gateshead and Salisbury City - and are also in turmoil off the pitch with the coach, John Beck, getting sent on 'gardening leave' last week because of a difference in views between him and the manager Steve Fallon.  Beck must be on his way because Fallon is talking about bringing in a player/coach in place of his right hand man.

Histon will be without Danny Wright and Bradley Hudson-Odoi.  Both are still struggling with hamstring injuries, while Lanre Oyebanjo remains sidelined with a knee problem.

We'll probably be without John Finnigan again and almost certainly without Robbie Matthews following the re-occurrence of his groin problem last Saturday against Eastbourne.

It could also be interesting to see if both David McDermott and Darryl Knights are part of the starting line-up following their superb individual displays the other night.  It was their industry and passing that broke Mansfield down in the end.

Even though I'm hoping that we can come away with the points from this game I still believe that Histon on their own patch will be a tough nut to crack.  But it's there to be won.
