Match preview Vs Stevenage Borough

gif

Date: 04-12-09gif Venue: The Lamex Stadiumgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
Now is not the best time for the Harriers to be travelling to Stevenage after the events of the past week and a bit.

First we lost Matthew Barnes-Homer, our only decent striker, to a fellow play-off hopeful and then the long suffering fans lost the will to live following two very mediocre performances against AFC Wimbledon and then on Tuesday against Tamworth.  The only blessing is that at least Tamworth only got away with a point and not the three that they deserved.

We did have the consolation of seeing Stevenage losing against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday evening.  Their previous defeat to that was at Oxford on August 22nd but well before that, in fact last season on November 29th 2008, came their last home defeat when Wrexham turned up at the Lamex Stadium (yuk!!) and won 2-1.  That defeat also ended a run of three defeats in a row for the 'Londoners'.

We'll have to face a Stevenage side looking to bounce back but I would like to think that our own players are thinking exactly the same and will also be looking to put the wrongs of the previous seven days right.

We now have Danny Andrew with us for a further month after Peterborough agreed that he could stay and it must be that this was funded by the monies coming our way from the MBH deal.  We should also be almost back at full strength after John Finnigan made a surprise return to the side against Tamworth after supposedly being out with a groin injury and we also have Robbie Matthews back following his one game ban for five yellows.

The only player that should be un-available is Kyle Hadley with a groin injury that may need surgery.

Stevenage will be without Michael Bostwick for this game after he collected his fifth yellow card of the season at Ebbsfleet on Tuesday.  Yemi Odubade picked up an injury in that game and so either Chris Beardsley or Lee Boylan will join Charlie Griffin up front.  Jon Ashton should return from injury to partner Mark Roberts in defence.
