Date: 16-07-2010 gif Martin Riley heads to Harriers MKII?
Martin Riley As expected - ever since Mark Yates left to become the new Cheltenham manager last December - Martin Riley left Kidderminster Harriers today after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent allowing him to join up with Yates at Cheltenham.  Also known as Harriers MKII?.

Since the Barrow/Gateshead double header back in April, when he wanted to go clubbing in Newcastle and it was stopped by the club, he has more or less lost any interest in playing for us.  Last Saturday instead of playing in the West Brom friendly he was in London having a night out and it was obvious that he wouldn't be here much longer.  Today that has been confirmed.

Martin first joined the club in August 2008 after his release from Wolves.  He couldn't get into the side at first but when Luke Jones got sent off at Kings Lynn in a FA Cup game Riley was sent on and never looked back.  Jones was released at the end of the season and joined Mansfield.

In the eighty five games that he played for us he scored four times and got sent off twice.  The first time was at Forest Green in April 2009 when the ref was famously conned by Andy Mangan to get him sent off and then last season he got sent off at home to Altrincham early on in August.

Other news today, this time concerning a former player, is that Darryl Knights has joined Newport County and will now become part of the Harriers MKIII team along with Robbie Mathews, Lee Baker, Paul Bignot and Sam Foley.
