Mitchell McPike Just seconds before the loan deal deadline at 5.00pm today, and not long after our game at Barrow was called off, the club announced two new month long signings.  The first one announced was Mitchell McPike (right) from Birmingham City and the second was the former Liverpool starlet, but now with Accrington, Craig Lindfield (left).

Craig Lindfield Let's start with McPike then.  The Longbridge born 19yr old has been with the Blues for all his working life but has yet to make the step up to the 1st team and plays his games mainly for the Youth and reserve sides.

His older brother, James, was also with the Blues but when he was released at the end of last season he came to us on trial for the close season friendlies but suffered a bad knee injury at Nuneaton.

The club are now still taking care of his injury some five months later even though he isn't signed with us or is signed to any other club.

Mitchell is a midfielder but with a host of other midfielders vying for a starting place it's hard to see just where he'll fit in.

The other signing, Lindfield, signed for Accrington Stanley for the second time in June of this year and has started only two games but made another six appearances from the bench without scoring.  He had originally joined them on his release from Liverpool and made twenty starts scoring twice before being released.

It took him six months to find another club but joined Macclesfield in January 2010 before getting released once more at the end of the season.  He made eighteen appearances for the Macc Lads and scored twice.

In between leaving Liverpool and the roundabout of his last two clubs he had been sent out on loan to Notts County, Chester City and Bournemouth.

Lindfield plays up front but his goals scored during his career total just seven in thirty nine games.  That doesn't sound too bad but seeing as it's taken over three years to achieve that then he doesn't look all that prolific.  We can but hope.

Both lads will be in the squad that will, hopefully, play against York City this coming Tuesday.
