Nick Wright The Harriers announced the signing of a new striker today to partner either Lee Morris or Chris McPhee up front.  Nick Wright has joined the club on a one year deal after leaving Tamworth earlier in the day to join us on a free transfer.

The twenty two year old forward started his career at Birmingham City but he sadly didn't make the grade there and was released after two years to join Tamworth.  He had previously been on loan with them and also had loan spells with Bristol City and Northampton Town.

He became a very popular signing at The Lamb and in total during his time there he made seventy five appearances and hit the back of the net twenty eight times including two hat-tricks in a row against Gresley Rovers in the FA Trophy in January 2005 and then just four days later scored another hat-trick against Hucknall Town in a 4-0 home win.

Nick, who is also an England C International, was on the verge of signing for the then promotion hopefuls Stevenage Borough mid way through last season but decided against it.  Ironically he could be playing in the Football League this coming season but instead will be turning out for us in the Blue Square BET Premier.

Wright is now our third signing from Tamworth following on from the recent signings of Michael Briscoe and Tom Shaw.
