Oliver Thorne On a quiet day generally across non league football at least the Harriers, for once, managed to bring a new face in.  Centre half Oliver (Ollie) Thorne signed for us from our opponents last Saturday, Newport County, after failing to make an appearance for them following his signing from Forest Green Rovers during the close season.

Up until lunchtime he was a Newport player under contract but his club released him from that to allow him to sign for us.  It's believed that he will remain with us for the remainder of the season but the Harriers official website have failed to clarify this.

He started his career at MK Dons without making an appearance for them and was eventually released to sign for Forest Green where he made over twenty appearances for them and scored once.

Interestingly our former centre half, Mark Creighton, was thought to be our original target to come in on loan from Oxford Utd but it's believed that his wage demands were too high.  That could mean that he actually wanted to be paid and so would have been immediately discounted.

There was no one going in the other direction today which was somewhat surprising.  There had been rumours of two players being moved out, including one very high profile player, but this never happened.  There is still time though because the loan window opens next Monday.
