Match preview Vs Eastbourne Borough

gif

Date: 16-04-11gif Venue: Priory Lanegif Kick off: 15:00hrs
Last weekend Eastbourne refused to do us a favour by putting up a fight of any kind against a rampant Fleetwood Town.  That was one game that we all thought that our nearest play off contenders would drop points in, just a draw would have been nice, but no, they only went and hammered the Boro out of sight with an astounding 6-0 win.

Meanwhile we were living on a knife edge at Grimsby by coming back home with an eventually credible 3-3 draw, for the second game in a row, after originally leading 2-1 during a one sided first half.  Grimsby regrouped well and a stupendous overhead kick from Alan Connell put them back in the game.  We have Matty Blair to thank for knocking in our first hat trick of the season.

Eastbourne lost again in midweek at Gateshead thanks to two Andy Ferrell goals in the Heeds 3-0 victory.  At least one former Harrier is thinking about us.

For tomorrows 'must win game by at least 10 goals' we'll still be without Tom Sharpe and Lee Morris although he is making a faster than expected recovery from his calf injury.  Keith Briggs should also return to the side after missing the Grimsby game to be at the birth of his son last weekend.  Apart from that we hopefully have no other injuries.

Eastbourne don't give out much in the way of team news but for the Fleetwood game they had Gary Elphick set to miss out through injury, along with Nathan Crabb and long-term duo Ross Treleaven and Matt Langston.  Jack Holland (hip) on loan from Crystal Palace was a doubt.

It goes without saying that we do really need to win this game and win it well.  I can't really see us knocking six past them but I could see at least three just as long as we don't let them do the same.  We don't want another 3-3 draw please.

A win would then set us up nicely for a busy coming week.  Darlington at home on Tuesday followed by the televised game, also at home, against Fleetwood Town on Friday evening.  Yes, that Fleetwood.
