Match preview Vs Eastbourne Borough

gif

Date: 20-11-10gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
If he gets to play against Eastbourne this will be Marc Williams last game for the Harriers unless he returns to us in the New Year.  After just over three months at Aggborough he'll be returning to his parent club, Wrexham, on Monday and he has already said to their local press that he intends to force himself back into the reckoning at the Racecourse Ground and so earn himself a new contract.

One assumes from that, that if he fails in his endeavour then he would be interested in coming back here but that will depend on money from our point of view and if he would ever start a game in his point of view.  That's something that he rarely ever did in his three months here with just two goals in 16 appearances and 10 of those were from the bench.  Unless he gets some kind of guarantee that situation will improve then who could blame him for looking elsewhere for a club?

So will he get a full game tomorrow then?  One who should do is Ollie Thorne now that his three game suspension is over leaving just Jack Byrne to complete his following Aaron Griffiths return to the squad last week.  Both players came through unscathed in the Senior Cup defeat to Worcester City on Tuesday but it's doubtful if Griffiths will feature on Saturday.

Eastbourne also have a player out suspended.  Joe Partington, on loan from Bournemouth, misses out tomorrow following his dismissal against Newport County last week.

On the injury front they'll be giving fitness tests to a number of players.  Gary Elphick (calf), Andy Atkins and Ross Treleaven (both hamstrings) are the players that could miss out.

Borough started the season strongly with some fine wins and if they did lose it would still be an exciting game with plenty of goals going in.  In recent weeks they have faltered slightly and are now just above the relegation zone.  The one amazing fact is that they are the second highest scorers in the League with 34 goals so far leaving them just two goals less than Luton and an admirable six goals more than us.  Their defence is sieve like though and 38 goals have gone in the wrong end putting them firmly at the bottom in that respect.

Our form has improved in recent weeks, with the exception of Tuesday night, and we're at the top of the form table at the moment.  That needs to continue for as long as possible and following great, but narrow, wins at Histon and at home to Rushden the previous week it's now time to turn up the pressure and grab a few more goals.  Will new signing Jamille Matt be the one to do that?
