Match preview Vs Forest Green Rovers

gif

Date: 01-01-11gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
The Harriers go into the second game off this two parter tomorrow without actually playing the first part yet.  That was due to have been played on Boxing Day but our away game at Forest Green was called off due to a 'bit' of snow and ice.  We'll now be, fingers crossed, playing that in mid March.

Luke Jones Following our home defeat against Newport County a few days ago we should be having two players returning from suspension and a missing brain cell.  Lee Vaughan served his one game suspension in Tuesdays defeat so he'll be back while Chris McPhee will be referring to his calendar and fixture list to check what time of day it is.

We will definitely be without Lee Morris after he pulled a hamstring against Newport and will be out for a few weeks while Callum Gittings should have recovered from the knock that saw him stretchered off mid way through the second half.  The only other worry we have is Mike Williams but, with him nearing full fitness following his operation, he could make an appearance from the bench.

Our visitors, Forest Green, will be coming to Aggborough on the back of a fine away win at Bath City on Tuesday.  In one of the results of the day they put four goals past the City with just two in reply.  That result gave them their sixth unbeaten game in a row and they won't be the push over many Harriers fans seem to believe they will be.

Now it's January they can start to play some of the new players they've bought in over the Christmas break.  Kieron Forbes was signed from Wealdstone while Chris Allen has arrived from Swindon Supermarine.  Wayne Turk, on loan from Newport County, has now made his move permanent while Mike Fowler and Curtis McDonald will be moving in the other direction sometime soon.

We should be seeing some former Harriers players turning out for FGR too.  Luke Jones (right) is a stalwart for them and turns in his fair share of goals while Craig Armstrong and Gavin Caines should be on show too.

We're going to have to play a bit better than our first half showing on Tuesday if we hope to get anything from this game but I'm sure that we will have learnt lessons from that and should at least manage to get a draw.  A win would be better though and what a way to start the New Year.
