Match preview Vs Grimsby Town

gif

Date: 10-10-10gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
We have another free Saturday this weekend, this time because of Grimsbys involvement in a televised Thursday evening game at Forest Green.  That means that once more we're forced to move the game to accommodate our visitors resting processes.  Can't have these poor footballers working every other day can we even though a man working in a factory on a drop forge or a postman up at the crack of dawn six days a week seems to be able to cope alright.

Down in the backwoods Grimsby came back from 3-1 down to earn themselves a 3-3 draw that looked very unlikely at one stage.  Two quick goals from Rob Eagle and Andrew Wright got them the point and for once the leagues leading scorer, Alan Connell, didn't score.

They'll be without goalkeeper Kenny Arthur through injury and that's why Richard O'Donnell has come in on loan from Sheffield Wednesday.  Also missing will be Lewis Gobern, Michael Coulson, Rob Atkinson and Charles Ademeno through injury.  The latter joined Grimsby from Crawley Town during the close season and Crawley wanted a fee for him (they were strapped for cash) but at a tribunal this week it was decided that his new club need only pay £10,000 for him much to the chagrin of Steve Evans and co.  What's £10,000?

We have a doubt with Ollie Thorne after he was subbed during the 2-1 win at home to Gateshead on Tuesday.  He has a bit of a groin injury and will more than likely miss out.  Mark Albrighton will step in to replace him if needed.  Lee Vaughan is recovering from a minor illness and Chris McPhee has a bit of a leg injury but he too should be ok.

After the weeks shock news involving the club being put up for sale it'll be good to ignore all that and continue our good home form of late.  Five games unbeaten now means that we're starting to build up a fortress attitude at Aggborough and that can't be a bad thing.  Forest Green showed that Grimsby are beatable even though the game was eventually drawn.  I think we can show the same too and I'd like to see us extend the unbeaten run further.
