Match preview Vs Rushden & Diamonds

gif

Date: 25-04-11gif Venue: Nene Parkgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
If you've only just come down off the ceiling following that brilliant night out at Aggborough on Friday, when we beat play-off contenders Fleetwood Town, then you'll be hoping that tomorrow you'll be back up there with the flies and cobwebs to celebrate another great win.

It's a Bank Holiday and that normally means a game against Rushden & Diamonds.  It seems that every season we play them over a holiday period but who's complaining because this time it promises to be an emotional joyride as we need to win this game, and next Saturday at home to Histon, to hopefully extend our season a little further.

Rushden also played on Friday, just slightly earlier in the day, at Crawley and got hammered 4-0 with two players sent off.  Gary Mills was the first to see red as early as the twelfth minute for retaliation and in injury time Max Porter was shown a yellow card and then a red for an unfair challenge on a Crawly man and that followed a yellow earlier in the game.  They'll both, obviously, miss the game tomorrow.

Also missing for them will be Sam Smith with an injury that won't see him return before the end of the season.  Ryan Charles - a former loanee at Aggborough - could also miss the game although he is now recovered from injury but won't be risked.  Paris Cowan-Hall and Neil Cousins returned from injury at Crawley so they could play some part in the game.

We should be able to include Matt Lowe in the squad that travels the A14 but if we actually get to see him is another matter.  Tom Sharpe is the only other player missing but he is back in light training now.  We didn't have any injuries following the Fleetwood game.

Earlier in the season we beat Rushden 1-0 at Aggborough with a Chris McPhee goal and now we need to achieve similar and complete the double.
