Hopefully we, as mere fans, will be able to get a clearer picture of the problems at tonights Fans Forum and be able to put forward some good, and concrete, ways of going forward. Tomorrow the business community will be asked what they can do for the club hopefully based on the fans suggestions.
While all this has been going on everyone seems to have forgotten the little matter of the game tomorrow night against Rushden & Diamonds. I'm sure that Steve Burr hasn't let it slip his mind though and will have the team up and ready for the visit of our old rivals.
They went crashing out of the FA Cup on Saturday through a hotly disputed goal scored late on by Yeovil Town. Rushden complained that the goal shouldn't have been allowed due to an offside player but even though the linesman flagged he was overruled by the referee and the goal was allowed. Tough, we've had worse than that and the referee never ever consults his linesman then.
Rushden will now be looking to concentrate on making the play-offs and at fourth place they are in a good position to do so. They've managed that through some good management and a board that are prepared to include local businesses in what they do and they've also done it on a shoestring. Still bemuses me to look at the number of people in their squad though with 32 compared to our meagre 20.
They should have a full squad for the game and will be including the former Harriers loanee Ryan Charles in the squad to travel to Aggborough.
Our 'meagre' squad will be without Ollie Thorne again with him serving the second game of his three match ban picked up in the FA Cup defeat to York City while Jack Byrne will be starting his three games that was inflicted on him by yet another rubbish referee at Southport. At least Aaron Griffiths has now finished his enforced period out of the game, following his red card at Kettering, and he'll probably play some part against Rushden but it's not known how or where.
Another option is re-calling Kyle Hadley from his loan at Harrogate where he has been scoring with aplomb but that's thought very unlikely.
After this long layoff we'll need to be sharp if we want to get anything out of this game. An even bigger reason to get a positive result though is to get this brilliant club of ours back on track again after all the rubbish that's been going on.
Get behind the team. Get behind the club. GET BEHIND KHFC!
