He injured his ankle two seasons ago and since then has struggled to get back in the side but he's been working it hard during close season in an effort to get uber fit but still found himself sidelined for the visit of Cambridge Utd to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday.
The rest of our team will also be hoping to bang some goals in against Southport following our fine opening day win at York. That came thanks to goals from Callum Gittings and Tom Shaw, the latter a penalty.
Lee Morris was withdrawn from the game at halftime with a slight hamstring pull and hopefully he'll be fit enough to make the cut tomorrow night. John Finnigan is still a doubt with a knee injury and Lee Vaughan will be serving the second game of his four match ban.
For Southport, Tony Gray has had his nose reset after breaking it during Saturday's home defeat against Wimbledon and will be available to play. Adam Flynn, who has work commitments with Liverpool FC's Academy, is in Kenya with that team until Friday meaning that he'll miss the game and Steve Daly has now completed his three match suspension left over from last season and he'll also be in the squad for them.
This is a game that on paper we should win but it will still be tough with Southport wanting to bounce back from defeat and also wanting to get three points off us. Can't see it happening though.
