Reuben Hazell finally returned to face Kidderminster Harriers this evening for his latest club Shrewsbury Town. He and the Shrews were beaten 2-1 by the Harriers at Aggborough.
After Shrewsbury dominated the opening proceedings the Harriers took the lead on 35 minutes via a penalty from Lee Vaughan (right). Following a corner Dave Hankin was fouled in the box and Vaughan dispatched the penalty with confidence into the top left hand corner.

Lewis, Vaughan, Mike Williams, Jones, Marshall, Hankin, Storer, Phelan, Vincent, Guinan, Marc Williams.
The Harriers keeper Danny Lewis then made some impressive saves either side of half time before Shrewsbury equalised via a Lionel Ainsworth drive from the right side of the box which went in off the far post with Lewis well beaten.
After the equaliser both sides seemed to stagnate and the flow of the game wasn't helped by the necessary changes for both sides in the second half which saw both Jamille Matt and Luke Medley introduced. Harriers late winner came courtesy of Matt as he cleverly drifted into space, Jack Byrne played the ball to him and he hit it first time past the Shrewsbury goalkeeper, Chris Neal, to seal a Harriers win.
All in all, a good game with encouraging signs for the forthcoming season.
