After much juggling around of dates to accommodate a club, Rushden, that exist in name only, and in the memory of Harriers fans that have enjoyed past encounters with them, the Conference board finally got their lethargic asses into gear and released the fixture list for the coming season earlier today.

Tom Sharpe We'll be starting at home this season on August 13th against Ian Bogies Gateshead and they should provide a stiff test for Steve Burrs newly assembled side.  The 'Heeds' manager has been very active in bringing new players in during the close season and they'll also be hoping to put one over us.

Our following two games will both be away from home with a visit to relegated Lincoln City on Tuesday evening (16th) and then to another historic city on Saturday when we travel to Cambridge Utd on the 20th.  We round off the month of August with a Saturday home game against Southport and then a trip to Newport County on Bank Holiday Monday.

For our Christmas games it's fair to say we were all hoping for a double header against our nearest rivals, newly promoted AFC Telford, but sadly Wrexham get them and we don't even get our next closest side Tamworth but have ended up with Forest Green Rovers once more.

Easter sees a reversal of the August Bank Holiday games with a trip to Southport and then a home tie against Newport on Easter Monday.  The season rounds off a few weeks later with a Saturday away day at Luton Town followed by a curtain dropper against Mansfield at Aggborough by which time we'll have won the League by a cricket score.

We have an handful of disappointments with both of the games against AFC Telford on a Tuesday evening (October 11th at home and February 7th at the New Bucks Head ground.

In other, quick, news.  The highly rated defender Tom Sharpe today signed a new one year contract with the club even though his place in the side is not guaranteed due to the amount of central defenders we now have on our books.  I'm sure he's prepared to fight hard for his place though.
