Following Tuesday evenings home defeat against high flying Wrexham the Harriers now need to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and start all over again at Bath City tomorrow.  We have another reason to start picking some points up too because our results in recent weeks have seen us slump from 2nd place in the current form table at Christmas to 3rd from bottom on Wednesday morning.  Only Darlington and Bath are below us and incredibly above us is basket case Kettering Town.

That table should make some worrying reading for Steve Burr and the team because it's showing a rapid decline in our season that could mean that unless it's arrested then we could well see ourselves dropping down to mid table sooner than later.  We need to put a stop to this ASAP.

How do we do that?  Well the obvious would be for Burr and Whild to realise that playing Jamille Matt alone up front hasn't worked and now the lad is visibly starting to see the strain and his game is suffering.  It's time to start with the Steve Guinan/Anthony Malbon partnership and put Jamma on the bench for a while.  Not drop him completely but bring him on for the last twenty minutes in place of Guinan and turn him back into the impact player he was a year ago.

It's got to be worth a try and there's no better place to try it than 'almost relegated already' Bath!

Their big chance of salvation came and went last week when they lost at home to Ebbsfleet on Saturday and then really messed up by losing at home on Tuesday to 23rd place, fellow strugglers, Hayes & Yeading.  That defeat left them nine points behind Hayes and seemingly doomed.

We should be getting back to comparative full strength for this game.  Lee Hendrie, Mickey Demetriou and Marvin Johnson all missed out against Wrexham but the first two should be ok with the only worry surrounding Johnson after he picked up an ankle injury against Lincoln City last Saturday.

Bath should be at full strength following the return from injury of Scott Murray and Jamie Cook in time for the Hayes game and also former Harrier, Sean Canham and Gethin Jones returning from a three match ban in time for last Saturdays game.

I have worries about this game and feel that City will either start fighting for their survival or just give in and be resigned to the inevitable.  Whatever they do I also think our bad run will continue and we'll be heading back up the M5 with just a single point in our back pocket.
