It's all starting to become a little disappointing now following that defeat at Telford during the week.  Although we had the lions share of the ball we failed to do anything constructive with it up front and in defence we looked a shambles at times.  The team seem to have lost their way and confidence is draining away quickly except for one player.

Anthony Malbon ran all night for us and his goal was no more than he deserved but for how long can he be relied on to produce the goods when he can see others around him not producing theirs.

Now, with just one win in nine and only five points from a possible twenty seven, we need to get back on track otherwise we'll soon find ourselves dropping like a stone.  Without a win at Braintree tomorrow, and at Tamworth on Tuesday, we could easily find ourselves down to thirteenth place by next weekend.

I expect Steve Burr to continue with the same side that turned out at Telford with maybe the exception of Marvin Johnson returning to the side in place of Callum Gittings.  Marvin seems to be a migraine victim and that could be the reason he wasn't around that night.

Braintree, who faded slightly following their good start, now seem to be putting a few results together once more but that seems to have coincided with the loan of nineteen year old Britt Assombalonga from Watford.  He scored five times in five games but that form has alerted his owners and they've now called him back home.

Hopefully that'll mean their winning streak has come to an end but don't bank on it.

They should have skipper Kenny Davis back from the hamstring problem that had sidelined him for the last three games, while Ryan Peters is available once more after missing four games with a dead leg.

I can see this game being just as free scoring as our 5-4 victory was at Aggborough earlier in the season.  With our suspect defence something similar has to be considered but you never know we might suddenly find that magic formula to get a well deserved win.
