The Harriers will be at home tomorrow night for the visit of one of the surprise packages of the season so far.  Braintree Town were promoted as Champions from the Blue Square South last season after finishing seven points clear of second placed Farnborough and they don't seem to have laft their form behind in the South.

At the time of writing they lie in eighth place in the table but have been dropping down slightly in recent weeks (almost as fast as us then) after running up a six game winning sequence.  They have only drawn once in the last four games with that coming at home to Bath City on Saturday when City scored in the final seconds of the game to deny The Iron all three points.

They'll be without one of their top scorers in Andrew Yiadom following his sending off in their 6-2 defeat at York City the previous Saturday.  They have just one other known injury with Chib Chilaka out for a while now with a mystery injury and it's doubtful he'll be fit for the game.

Unlike us.

We now have seven players out either injured or suspended.  Luke Jones, Mike Williams, Jack Byrne, Dave Hankin, Danny Lewis are those missing through no fault of their own while Lee Vaughan sits out the second game of his three match ban for the red card against Telford last Tuesday.  Kyle Storer was obviously missing his days out shopping because he's suspended once again for five yellow cards only two games after returning from suspension for a red card.

With the team down to the bare bones the Harriers manager, Steve Burr, was hoping to bring in another keeper as cover for Dean Lyness over the weekend.  So far one has not materialised but it's also looking imperative that we bring in a new striker following our dire single goal defeat at Darlington a few days ago.  We only managed to muster one shot on goal in the entire game and that was with four strikers on the pitch at one stage.

If we don't start scoring goals soon then we're going to be moving further down the table at this rate.  Can we start doing that against Braintree please?

Teams:

Harriers from:
Lyness, Sharpe, Demetriou, Phelan, Briscoe, Marshall, Vincent, Cresswell, Guinan, N Wright, Thompson-Brown, Matt, Gittings, Marc Williams, Medley.

Braintree from:
McDonald, A Jones, Peters, Thomas, Bailey-Dennis, Paine, Reason, Symons, Davis, Marks, B Wright, Guy, Tajbakhsh, McCammon, Quinton, O'Connor, Johnson, Chilaka, Stevens, James-Lewis, McLeod, Vose.
