You can tell when Christmas is here because other clubs think we'll be gifting them our top players for next to nothing.  Jamille Matt is the latest to be linked to a number of clubs following his recent goal scoring run and then finally his possible 'goal of the season' in the televised win at York City last Monday.

At that game were watching scouts from Bradford City and Scunthorpe while Northamptons new manager Adie Boothroyd has been watching him at home games.  Yesterday it was they who made the first firm offer(s) but were immediately slapped down by chairman Mark Serrell.  The sooner we get Jamille on a new contract the better for both concerned parties.

He'll definitely be in the starting eleven against Forest Green tomorrow with our only doubts being James Vincent and Callum Gittings after he injured his toe at York and was withdrawn at the break.  The Harriers Online sponsored Scott Phelan has gone out on loan to Vauxhall Motors for a month.

FGR have been having a good season so far and, following a poor start, seem to have got their act together in recent weeks and now sit just a few places behind the Harriers but we have five points and a game in hand on them.  They'll have Al Bangura missing through injury whilst centre back pairing Jamie Turley and Eddie Oshodi will miss the game because of suspension.

Wayne Turk has just returned from a spell on loan to Salisbury and he should step into either Turley or Oshodi's place. In last seasons equivalent game, played on New Years Day, the Harriers finished 1-0 winner with a late goal from Chris McPhee.  We had been awarded a penalty and the former captain took it but James Bittner could only manage to parry it back to him and this time he put the ball away.

Our games all seem to have been low scoring affairs in recent years and it would be nice to see a more pleasing scoreline this time out.  A Jamille hat trick?  That would be great in one respect but if we want to keep him for a while longer then I'd rather Jamma start to go through a barren spell and let Nick Wright get the goals instead.
