Darryl Knights On Saturday while the Harriers were eventually putting paid to Southports hopes of three points just up the road AFC Telford were doing the exact same thing to tomorrows opponents Newport County.  Actually Newport seemed to be doing their level best to commit Hari-Kiri by ending up with six players booked, two sent off and what could have been three.

During the first half their keeper Danny Potter, formerly of Cambridge Utd, clearly handled outside the area but lucky for him only picked up a yellow card.  In the second half, with their side 2-1 down, Scott Rogers elbowed Duane Samuels in the face and was red carded and just a few minutes later Tommy Doherty mouthed off at the referee and, with his second yellow card of the day, he too took a walk back to the dressing rooms.

With the side not performing as well as last season under Dean Holdsworth the new manager, Anthony Hudson, is under pressure to get results and at the moment that's looking difficult.

They'll be without Ryan Gilligan with a thigh injury and also the former Harrier Darryl Knights (right) with a long term knee injury.  Dazzler had this injury last season and underwent surgery before the season ended.  He's now been cleared for training but won't be anywhere near fit enough to play us but he is targeting a mid September comeback.

Following our 2-0 win against Southport we will probably continue with the same line-up again at Newport with the only possible change being the return of Steve Guinan after he missed Saturdays game with cramp in his hamstrings.  Jack Cresswell will still be out with his hamstring injury.

Last season we went to Newport at the same time of the season and got an unwelcome thrashing at the hands of the Leagues newcomers.  This time I expect us to be a bit stronger and to see off County by the end of a hard fought game and continue with our great start to the season.
