The Harriers kick off their FA Trophy campaign tomorrow at a ground that gave us the springboard to our most successful cup run in recent years.  It was in the 2006-07 season that we played Vauxhall Motors at Aggborough at this stage but we almost blew it when we allowed them to come back from a 3-1 deficit at halftime to eventually draw 4-4 at the final whistle.

Thankfully we managed to do better in the replay in Cheshire, over a month later because of the bad weather weather.  In that game we did the job properly with a 4-0 thrashing of the Motormen with James Constable grabbing a hat trick and Andy White bundling home the fourth goal.

We went on to beat Exeter City, Halifax, Braintree and then Northwich over two legs before meeting Stevenage at the, then, new Wembley Stadium.  In that historic game it was Constable again who scored both our goals but a second half capitulation saw Stevenage lift the Trophy and the end of our Trophy dreams for a few years.

The season after we got as far as the 2nd round but went out after a penalty shoot out against Weymouth in which we failed to understand the simple premise of actually scoring from the penalty spot.  In the 08-09 season we managed to reach the 3rd round and this time we had cottoned on to this penalty idea by going as far as twelve of them at York until Justin Richards cracked and missed the thirteenth.

In 2010 we did better and reached the semi final stage against, err, Stevenage and this time we got well and truly walloped by them when we lost the 1st leg 5-1 at home but managed to save a bit of face by holding them to a goalless draw at Broadhall Way.  Or rather they didn't want to rub it in too much.

Last season we failed to make it beyond the first round and lost 2-0 at Wrexham.  Lets hope that wasn't the start of a new trend?

For the game tomorrow we have had to bring in a third keeper with the non contract signing of Nathan Vaughan because of Tony Breeden being cup tied and Dean Lyness being doubtful due to an injury keeping him off the bench for the past two weeks.  Vaughan has previously played for Evesham and Halesowen and should be ok for the short term if he is needed.

We could have a few other injury problems but only slight ones thankfully.  Callum Gittings and James Vincent have slight problems while Steve Guinan was subbed at half time on Tuesday after picking up a knock in the 4-1 win at home to Bath City but he should be ok to play.  Lee Hendrie will be missing due to being cup tied.

Our hosts Vauxhall drew at home to Histon last Saturday but as for any team news following that game you may as well go ask the fairies.  Their match reports go to a blank page, team info is full of players long since departed, the video page is populated with Southport videos and they don't have a fans message board.  I'd be surprised if they have any fans either?

I don't really see Vauxhall putting up much of a fight but then again Corby didn't either.  Or was that us?
