The Harriers go into this crunch game at fellow strugglers Barrow tomorrow with just one aim on their mind 'We must win this game at all costs'.  Five games without a win this season (even more if you include the final two games of last season) and only two goals in all those games means that we need to get back on the goals and points trail as soon as possible.

Richard Peniket We thought that would happen at the previous bottom club, Dartford, two weeks ago but they thrashed us 1-0 in a gutless performance from the Harriers.  Now we face the club that are above us in 23rd place and again we need to start getting our season on track with our first win up there since March 1999.

To that end we bought in a new striker yesterday to give our feeble attack a bit more meat.  Wether it's going to work we won't know until 5.00pm but as long as we try a bit harder we'll be on the right track.  It's a fact that just two goals scored this season, against Mansfield, is no way to get points on the board.

The new striker is Richard Peniket (right).  He's come in on a five month loan from Premiership Fulham but has never played a first team game for them but was similarly sent to Hereford on loan last season.  He made seven appearances for them without scoring but hopefully playing for a better side he should be ok with us.

We could still be without Danny Lewis (groin strain) for the game after he became a late injury casualty before Mondays defeat at home to Forest Green.  Following that game James Vincent (just called up for England C again) also strained his groin and could be doubtful too.  Ryan Austin, who also missed the Bank Holiday defeat, is now fit to play.

Jack Byrne and Tom Sharpe both remain long term injuries but at least Tom is now back in light training and should be able to step up the comeback from his cruciate injury any day soon.

As for wantaway Exodus Geohaghon?  Sadly he's still with us and was forced to sit on the bench against FGR because of the late injury to Austin.  Steve Burr has stated that he'll only be leaving for Mansfield on our terms and the board have said that they are looking at the possibility of reporting Mansfield to the FA for their underhand tactics in all of this sorry mess.

Whatever happens I don't think he's wanted here anymore and the sooner he goes the better.

As mentioned Barrow are also struggling at the bottom of the table with us.  Whereas our position wasn't expected Barrows was and they were amongst everyones favourites for the drop this season.  Oh the fickle finger of fate!

They are in the luxurious position of having two more points than us and that's down to two draws in the opening week of the season against Telford and Hyde.  Since then they have lost to Woking, Alfreton and Macclesfield and to stop that slump they have signed the former Gateshead and Darlington winger Chris Moore with defender Tom Aldred coming in from Colchester on a month long loan.

They'll also be hoping to put some results together to get away from the bottom of the table but we have to up our game considerably from previous weeks if we hope to do likewise.  On paper we have a far stronger squad than the Cumbrians but we need more than strength and skill.  We need fire in our bellies and iron in our souls if we aim to come back with three points.

We need to win.  Simple as.
