This will be the Harriers third attempt to play a game on a Saturday, against Cambridge Utd, in recent weeks and I hope that it will be third time lucky this time.  Two weeks ago the home game against Woking was called off due to a snow covered pitch and then last Saturday we were supposed to be at Newport and the ground was waterlogged.

We should be able to show off our two new signings, Nathaniel Jarvis and Amari Morgan-Smith, but probably only one at a time.  One will start from the bench but who will make way for them on that bench?  My monies on Nathan Blissett because he hasn't really stepped up to the plate since Jamille Matt left us for Fleetwood when he really should have been champing at the bit.

Reports from those that braved the freezing conditions for the WSC defeat to Redditch on Tuesday evening also thought that he did himself no favours and so didn't Ryan Rowe either.  One of them has to be dropped for a while to get their act together.

We'll be without Keith Briggs for the game as he continues to remain absent with a knee injury and James Vincent could also be doubtful even though he played on Tuesday after being withdrawn from the England C squad that lost to Turkey the same evening.  Sean Clancy left the club during the week but he would have played no part anyway because he still had one game left of his three game ban.

Cambridge were just up the road at Telford Utd and they returned back home with all three points to heap more misery on Telfords season.  Goals from Andy Pugh and Michael Gash gave them the victory to continue their excellent recent form that closely matches ours in the improvement they have shown since November.  Just one defeat, at Nuneaton, in that time has seen them follow us up the table to their present position four places and five points behind us.

All told this promises to be a top clash and with our two new players, attractive opposition and the possibility of the three points taking us up to third place in the league if Newport fail to beat Tamworth and Forest Green do likewise at Luton.

What with a lack of chances to see the Harriers lately then this game will make essential viewing.

STOP PRESS: Harriers have bought in Greg Pearson on loan from Grimsby until the end of the season.  He will not be eligible to play against Cambridge but will be for Tuesday evenings trip to Gateshead.
