The Harriers will be taking an enforced respite from their battle against relegation tomorrow as we journey towards Scandinavia to take on Grimsby Town in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round.  If we get a result, win or draw, at Blundell Park then we'll be number 54 in the fishbowl on Sunday and the outside chance of drawing a decent League club.  Knowing our luck, if we do get through, we'll be drawn away at Barrow.

Richard Peniket Along with the chance of a game in the 1st round proper we also get the sum of £12,500 in our back pockets and that's not to be sniffed at.

Sadly we'll be without on loan Adam Watkins for the game due to Luton not wanting him cup tied for their eventual Semi Final game against Manchester Utd or Chelsea.  They have to get past Cambridge Utd first though and if they don't then their block on Watkins playing for us will seem a tad ironic.

Fulham have allowed us to play Richard Peniket (left) though so hopefully he'll reward us with a goal - the first goal of his career?

Grimsby also had some loanee worries with only two of their three allowed to play tomorrow.  Scott Neilson (Crawley) and Nathan Pond (Fleetwood) have both been given the go ahead but Bradford City have said no to Ross Hannah getting cup tied.  They'll need him for when they go out against Barrow.

On the injury front, apart from Jack Byrne of course, we have just Danny Pilkington missing with a knee injury.  He isn't a first team choice anymore anyway.  Talking of which, Ryan Austin has been sent out on loan to Brackley Town in a move reminiscent of Tom Marshalls loan there last season.  He came back a better player but was still released at the end of the season.  Just as I expect Austin to be too, sadly.

Shaun Pearson could be the only Grimsby player out injured after he missed their win at Telford last Saturday.  He picked up an injury to his shin during their previous game at Alfreton and will now be assessed prior to the game being played.

The Harriers managerial duo will also be hoping for a decent result from the game.  Steve Burr and Gary Whild have never won a FA Cup game during their three year stint at Aggborough but there's always a first time for everything.  Our last FA Cup win came against Curzon Ashton in November 2008 under Mark Yates reign.

That run back then ended up with us playing disappointingly at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena.  It's about time we had another chance to redeem ourselves.
