With the play-off places more or less confirmed now - barring disasters and miracles - the Harriers get the chance to do the double over one of the play-off teams tomorrow evening.  This contest against Newport County at Rodney Parade has been eagerly looked forward to for some time now and mainly because it's seen as a way of putting more space between each other and then three points nearer to a possible first place.

We went a big way towards that on Saturday when we finally put paid to Tamworth after going down to an early goal from one time Steve Burr target Adam Cunnington.  Goals from Keith Briggs, Danny Pilkington and Michael Gashs' brace gave us the eventual comfortable win against out neighbours and now it's off to South Wales.

Recent weeks have seen the County manager Justin Edinburgh going into moan moan overdrive with pointless complaints about fixture congestion for his frail charges.  We've seen no support from him for Gatesheads problems (the victims of his diatribes) let alone poor old Braintree and Dartford who have fixtures backlog that would have him tearing what's left of his hair out.

And then on Saturday poor old Justins karma went into reverse as their own game against Macclesfield was called off with short notice to leave them with a further game to re-arrange.  It gave them an extra few days rest before they play us but I haven't seen him apologising to us for having to play an extra game than them this weekend though.

Newport have a few injuries in their squad.  Midfielder Max Porter will be out for the remainder of the season with a groin injury while striker Danny Crow and winger Ben Swallow are also sidelined with hamstring injuries.

At least they'll have top scorer Aaron O'Connor back from injury but he could start from the bench.

We should be at full strength for this important game with only Jack Byrne missing now.  He could be seen in the pre-match warm up on Saturday going through some short sprints but it's still going to be the end of the season before he finally makes it back onto the pitch.

Kyle Storer will miss out too due to serving the last game of his two match ban.

And that's it.  We have no injuries.  We're scoring for fun.  We're third in the table.  We're not afraid of Newport.

Come on.  Let's get them beat.
