Now that we're on a 'run' the Harriers will come up against what should be our biggest chance of all three points of the season so far.  Southport, like us, haven't got off to the kind of start that was expected of them and to see them in the nether regions of the League is a bit different from last season when they spent most of the time in or around the top six.

Danny Lewis The main difference is that they have won two games so far and we have won, er? zero.  That will have to changed pretty soon and following the draws at both Barrow and Braintree we are finally starting to see a real result on the horizon.

It took a last minute goal from the Harriers Online sponsored Mickey Demetriou on Tuesday evening down in Essex.  At Barrow a goal from Dan Pilkington opened the scoring but we allowed Barrow back into it.  Marvin Johnson and jack Byrne are the scorers of our only other goals and one day we might get a goal from a striker.

Southport have had three pointers at Hyde and at home to Gateshead on Tuesday so they might feel that their season is coming together now but their other results have been just as bad as ours with two draws and two defeats.

They will be without the suspended Alan Moogan who serves his third and final match of his suspension while defender Steve Akrigg (shoulder) is ruled out.  Winger Chris Almond (strain) is having treatment and should be fit to play.

We should be seeing the remainder of our squad, barring Tom Sharpe and Jack Byrne, coming back from injuries now and that means that Danny Lewis (right) will have to fight to get his place back from Nathan Vaughan in goal.  Nathan has turned in some performances that have confounded his critics and Danny will find it hard to dislodge him from in between the sticks.  James Vincent should also be back in contention too following his groin strain.

We will also be without Guyanan international Ricky Shakes who is on World Cup duty in South America.

It goes without saying that, yet again, we are faced with another must win game.  At one stage, sooner or later, we will win and get some more meaningful points on the board.  They'll come tomorrow.
