Date: 05-01-14 gif Harriers could take on the Black Cats of Sunderland
Following yesterdays thrilling home draw to league 1 side Peterborough Utd the Harriers could find themselves facing Premiership side Sunderland in the next round.  First we have the minor problem of overcoming Boro at London Road on January 14th in the replay but that should be a 'mere formality'.

As I write this the Black Cats are one up at home to Carlisle in their 3rd round game and if they do win through *, and so do we, then it will be the first time that Harriers have played a Premier League side since 2004 when we bowed out to the once mighty Wolves.

The 4th round will be played on the weekend of January 25th ironically on the day that we would have played Macclesfield.  Yesterday they drew at home to Sheffield Wednesday and face a replay on the same evening that we'll be in Peterborough.  If they win their game then they'll be facing Rochdale away.

The full draw is as follows:

Sunderland v Kidderminster Harriers or Peterborough Utd

Bolton Wanderers v Cardiff City

Southampton v Yeovil

Huddersfield v Charlton or Oxford Utd

Port Vale or Plymouth Argyle v Brighton & Hove Albion

Nottingham Forest v Ipswich or Preston NE

Southend Utd v Hull City

Rochdale v Macclesfield or Sheffield Wednesday

Arsenal v Coventry City

Stevenage v Everton

Wigan Athletic or MK Dons v Crystal Palace

Derby County or Chelsea v Stoke City

Blackburn Rovers or Man City v Bristol City or Watford

Bournemouth or Burton Albion v Liverpool or Oldham Athletic

Birmingham City or Bristol Rovers or Crawley Town v Man United or Swansea City

Sheffield United v Norwich or Fulham
* Sunderland beat Carlisle 3-1 to give ourselves something to aim for.
