Michael Gash Michael Gash (right), today, left the Harriers for pastures new when the club cancelled his contract by mutual consent.  With the prolific striker out of favour since the beginning of the season both clubs felt it was time for him to move on.

We signed him on loan from Cambridge Utd in March 2013 to see us through to the end of the season and that worked well enough for him to sign a two year contract with us in time for the following season.  Many will remember his fine goals for us particularly against Wrexham in the 12-13 season and against Peterborough in that memorable FA Cup Victory last season that saw us meet up with Sunderland in the next round.

This season things didn't seem to go so well for him and there were rumours of a training ground bust up and Gary Whild saying at the fans forum in the Autumn that he was a 'lazy trainer'.  We could see that he never seemed to get involved in games too much but then he would suddenly pop up with a bit of magic and the ball would be in the net.  Many people couldn't see the work that he got through off the ball and that sometimes the team were told to play in a certain style that didn't suit him.

In his time with us he banged it in the net twenty five times in seventy five games including most of our penalties.  He had been sent out on loan to local side Nuneaton for the past two months and in eleven games scored once and it's likely that he'll return there on a full time basis until, at least, the end of this season and hopefully his goals were keep them up and our derby games alive.
