On Saturday they recorded their first win in nine games when they soundly beat Chester FC 3-2 after leading 2-0 at half time. That was thought to be down to the new manager Liam Daish changing things round by dropping regular players and bringing in a load of loanees, one of which, Marcel Barrington, scored their third goal. Barrington joined them from Leicester City as has Andy Dawson while they have a goalkeeper, Christian Dibble, in to cover an injury to the regular keeper James Wren. Finally Courtney Baker-Richardson has joined them permanently from Coventry City.
They also have Michael Gash on loan for us although he won't be allowed to play against the Harriers. He hasn't scored for Nuneaton yet anyway so he'd be unlikely to score against us anyway.
Our mini run of favourable results came to a sorry end at Altrincham on Saturday when we lost 2-1 after taking the lead through Marvin Johnson just after half time. Poor defending and sitting too deep after thinking we had the game tied up at 1-0 was our undoing as it is been before now and will be again. One day we might wake up and smell the coffee.
We have no injuries to worry about but we could be without Matt Robinson after he opted to return back to Luton. He could still change his mind by tomorrow and stay with us for a bit longer but if not then we do have Kyle Storer to step back in following injury.
Apart from the injury to James Wren it's not known what other injuries Nuneaton have.
I'm expecting a win for us in this game and believe that their win on Saturday was just a blip in their campaign to get relegated.
In earlier news today the draw was made for the 1st round proper of this seasons FA Trophy. Once again someone has contrived to punish us with a trip to Bradford PA.
We played them three times last season in the Trophy and in the FA Cup. In the Trophy we lost 2-1 up there and in the FA Cup we won at Aggborough after a replay and on all three occasions they were probably the better side. I don't hold out much hope of progressing further in the Trophy this season.
